Time: 09.00. Moving on hastily from whiskers, here’s the latest about the BBC broadcast where I might have a part. It’s scheduled for tomorrow, 3 August, but could be postponed if last minute news items take precedence. On 21 June I said I’d let you know as soon as I have any information.
Well I don’t. Nothing to report, so I’m presuming it will go ahead tomorrow. Let me emphasise again though, that yours truly might have only a small part, or none. When BBC man Paul arrived here on 22 June he said would be interviewing others as well as me, and could not forecast what the final version would look like. Let’s trust his production team to choose the mix that has the most impact.
This blog post will appear at 09.00 today, as they all do. If I hear anything later I’ll add it below. If we miss it, chill. Paul said it will also be on YouTube.

Time: 13.00. From Paul, the BBC interviewer:
It will be on our website from the early hours, hopefully on the front page so we have some good promotion, and then the tv version will have its first airing on our lunchtime bulletin, which is about 12:30 tomorrow (on earlier due to the olympics)
A shorter version of the piece will run during that bulletin with hopefully the longer one running during our 1830 programme and then again at 2230.
David features heavily as the main contributor in the piece with other people speaking through the story where appropriate.
The full version of the piece will be on our YouTube channel from about 0700 tomorrow.
I’m looking forward to seeing it travel far and wide across all our platforms.
I think ‘our website’ refers to BBC London, which anyone can access. The TV version is probably BBC London also, after the main news. Let’s hope Paul’s wish in his last sentence is fulfilled.

David, I’ve just seen your BBC interview while I was perusing Twitter with my morning tea. Your story has really touched me. I’m a volunteer Complementary Therapist on the ward at Phyllis Tuckwell hospice in Surrey, and an end if life Therapist, so I spend much time considering all things end of life and learning what it means to have A Good Death. I fully support the bill that is being given a 2nd chance in parliament in the Autumn. And I hope that you get your wish.
