A funny thing happened…

A funny thing happened on the way to the hotel. I started to think of Calvary.

It must have been decades since that name had moved unprompted into the consciousness but there it was, firmly nestling there, a few weeks ago as the taxi driver took me from the airport to what was to be my small, quiet, city-centre home for a few days.

And here we are today.  It’s April 1 2020, and this new blog is not an April Fool’s thing!  Nor, I hope, will it be stuffy and boring.  I want to make it a wide-ranging set of thoughts, observations, reflexions, experiences past and present, humorous and not-so humorous, but essentially easy-reading and interesting.  It’s actually been an interesting life.  Perhaps it’s time to share some of the things that I haven’t spoken about in the past.  And I need a hobby.

That’s it for today.  Who knows where this will go?  I certainly don’t, but I intend to enjoy it so I hope you will.
