DAVID PEACE
WHY?
Why write a blog? Why now?
It’s been an interesting and stimulating life, and it still is: from working class home to world class universities, and onward to Africa, the Gulf, senior executive positions in global industries and more, operating in so many sectors – charities, oil & gas, foreign armed services, defence, security, civil engineering, career support, law, voluntary organisations and others. Adventures, dangers, triumphs, disasters, huge lifetime friendships, lots of fun, a current and future illness, and a number of things I’ve not spoken about in the past.
It’s April 1 2020. Why now? I’m 72 and at home under semi-house arrest like everyone else, dodging the coronavirus. My illness is ‘progressing’, as the medics say. To write a book would be a task too far. The mind is still active, or at least I hope it is. There’s plenty to talk about quite apart from David Peace. I need another hobby, and to enjoy it.
So this is the latest adventure, hopefully interesting and fun. We’ll see …..

It’s never dull …
If you were thinking about buying the Sunday Times so that you can read the article today (see the end of yesterday’s blog), don’t. Why? Two days ago Dignity in Dying told us that Switzerland had...
